Although I was raised in the Western North Carolina mountains, I left at a young age never thinking I would come back . EVER. I have lived and worked in many places and have had the privilege of some amazing experiences - being off the gringo path in Peru, living above an artist's gallery in Indonesia, going to school in the Loire Valley in France, hiking into an active volcano in Nicaragua . . . the privilege was not about the places I stayed, but in the people I encountered who helped ignite my soul in some way or uncover what living is truly about.
